We are very pleased that you are interested in our “Bildungshaus Alsterpalais”!

On this page we have put together all the information you need to know about registration – if you have any further questions, please contact us!

Registration for childcare

Are you interested in our concept and are you looking for a crèche or nursery school for your child?

In the childcare centre, crèche children from the age of one and nursery children from ages 3 to 6 find a place to live, learn, play and grow up. Depending on need, we offer all types of services as well as inclusion according to the Hamburg voucher system. Individual and private childcare times can be arranged with us on a case by case basis. We are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you are interested in a place at our childcare, please come to one of our childcare tours and get to know our rooms and our concept! Please register by phone 040/52 98 52 87 or by e-mail!
(Due to current events, we are suspending all childcare tours for the time being).

You are welcome to fill out a pre-registration form with no obligation. Please note that a pre-registration sheet is not a binding registration. We will contact you if we can offer you a childcare place for your child.

Registration for primary school

Is your child about to start school and you are interested in a place at our school?

Here’s some important information

  • Please note – we start planning the school year a quarter of a year earlier than the state schools, already in autumn!
  • Therefore, please familiarise yourself with our concept well in advance
  • Feel free to come to our education centre for the Open Day in autumn, even if your child will not be enrolled the following year
  • Feel free to come to our education centre for other public events – all dates can be found here
  • If you are interested in a place at our school, please fill out a form in summer. You will receive written confirmation from us. A reservation is not a binding registration.

This is what happens when you have completed a pre-registration form for your child:

  • We add you to our mailing list. Even if your child will only start school in a few years, we will keep you up to date once or twice a year about news from our education centre!
  • The admissions process begins in October the year before your child begins school. Before Christmas you will know whether we can offer your child a place at our school. If not, you will be able to register your child at another school within the usual deadlines.
  • If your child is to start school in the coming year, you will receive a separate invitation to the informational parents‘ evening for future first graders in autumn – please add this event to your calendar!
  • If we have the opportunity to offer your child a place at school, we will invite your child to a trial day and you to a subsequent interview.

Registration for transferring students

Does your child go to another school and would like to transfer to our school?

Here is some important information for transferring students of all ages:

  • We only have a limited number of available school places, however a transfer to our school is possible at any time – please contact us!
  • Please also fill out a non-binding form – and also send us your child’s last two school reports, as well as other relevant information.
  • Generally, we know in February at the latest how many available school places there will be in the different year groups in the coming school year.
  • If we can offer you a school place, we will invite the interested children or young people to a visitation day.

The childcare of our Bildungshaus is connected to the Hamburg childcare voucher system. The amount of the parental contribution depends on your family income and the required care time. The current contribution table of the city of Hamburg can be found here.

Primary and secondary level
As an independent school, we finance our school operations partly ourselves. The city of Hamburg covers 85% of the costs. We finance the missing 15% through school fees and vouchers
from the city for all-day care and school lunches. For families who have difficulties raising the school fees and the own contribution for the childcare voucher, there are support options. We have compiled some answers to frequently asked questions. Click here!
